This piece is inspired by today's politics and the spoken and unspoken societal limitations placed on women. I have so much gratitude to the brave women that stood up before us and persisted so that we can now enjoy the freedoms, opportunities and respect that we have grown accustomed to.
However, there are still quite a few glass ceilings that need to be shattered. So this painting is dedicated to all the lovely women out there that are persisting in living their dreams despite obstacles, limitations and nay sayers....so that as they open new doors for themselves, they pave the way for the women standing beside them, behind them....and even the ones off to the side, to do the same.
This piece reads, "Nevertheless, she persisted, stronger and wiser".
